I have an unbelievable sense of urgency, and have for some time. I have finally reached my breaking point and don’t quite know what to do with myself. I feel like I could try to sit here and write how I feel or what I believe to impact the lives of those who read this, and yet I feel like I would bounce all over the wall and hit every possible subject and biblical idea known to me, thus causing confusion instead of excitement. I can’t hold it in though! I am in awe of my Father. I am in awe of my Daddy, my Abba. His ways are so much higher than my ways. He is victorious. He is purifying everything in me. I am a new child. He is changing everything in me. Freedom! Freedom! Freedom! [Stay with me]. This isn’t some fleeting idea within me, but real tangible freedom through understanding who exactly my God is.  Through understanding what He has done. I need Him to show me His glory more and more so that I may take it to the rest of the world. Why aren’t we, the body of Christ, doing more to reach the world? Why aren’t we doing more? Why aren’t we doing more?? Why am I not doing more? What else is there worth doing?? God is calling us to get up and go out and yet we sit quietly and watch the world pass by. I can’t take it anymore! I am fired up with an unquenchable passion to reach the world. To see His glory and to share it. To reach those that wake up everyday without enough to eat. To reach those that have enough to eat but still feel an emptiness inside. To help those persecuted. To be a light in the darkness. Lord help me to narrow my sights that I have sniper like precision to do what is called of me within Your will, but please help me to never lose my passion and my boldness.

Still, I cannot seem to properly express what I am feeling, where I am going, or where I want you to go with me so I thought I would share the lyrics to the song that has gripped me in a way I can’t explain. If it doesn’t bring tears to your eyes, goosebumps to your arms and a sense of urgency like you’ve never felt before then I would say, listen to it again. God has put an anointing on the likes of Jason Upton like I have never heard on another worship leader IN MY LIFE. The songs are unorthodox, sometimes elementary in terms of overall sound, and yet he possesses something that I’ve not heard before; an ability to move freely under the thick grip of the Holy Spirit. Almost always he sings what moves through him from the Spirit without planning…completely spontaneous worship. His words are thus the words of God speaking through him.  Words of power, edification, action, healing, comfort. Words that are more than words, they are God-given promises. That’s what I want to sing into my life. May this ignite your passion and quicken your step for the cause of Christ.

 There is a power in poverty that breaks principalities, it brings the authorities down to their knees. There is a brewing frustration and an ageless temptation to fight for control by manipulation. The God of the Kingdoms and God of Creation, God of the Nations sent this revelation through the homeless and penniless Jesus the Son: “The poor will inherit the Kingdom to come”. Where will we turn when our world falls apart and all of the treasures we stored in our barns, can’t buy the Kingdom of God?And who will we praise when we’ve praised all our lives, men who build kingdoms and men who build fame, but Heaven does not know their names?And what are we gonna fear, when all that remains is a God on the throne with a child in his arms and love in His eyes? And the sound of His heart crying…Take us way beyond religion. Way beyond the minds of man. Take us way beyond religion. Way beyond the minds of man. Take us way beyond politics and the ways of the world. Oh deeper, deeper, deeper, deeper, deeper, deeper. We want to go deeper. Deeper into the ways of you Jesus. Teach us how to love.
